Gold. Girls Guns.Inspiration

I am just about to start working on a painting for the Portland Gun Show (an art show not a real gun show) at the Globe Gallery.  I am a little behind on my painting since I have so many events coming up and I am getting ready to relaunch my etsy shop since it has been empty for what seems like forever!  I am thinking about doing something a little bit different for this painting and I wanted to share my inspiration board for the painting before I start :).

This song by Metric was my main starting point for inspiration in thinking about this painting.  I just love the song! I am not a huge fan of guns- I don't think I have ever even held a gun but I love the idea of 1960's campy western meets 1970's gold glam.  I only have a couple days to make it and now I just need the painting comes through the canvas.!

"Every block of stone has a statue inside it and it is the task of the sculptor to discover it. " Michaelangelo

PS I have a special surprise coming soon- I just have to finish editing the video. Nope no sneaky peaks on this project! :)
