This time last year I was in Paris.. sighs. strolling the little streets. eating as many croissants and macaroons as I could possible hold, drinking endless amounts of fluffy Cafe Au Lait , and gazing at gorgeous paintings. I wish I could just transport myself there right now. When are they going to make tele-porters?
It was gorgeous when we were there and I just love flipping through my photos of our week there. This is just right outside of the La Louvre, the home of the Mona Lisa. We went on the free day and it was so crowded! and the lines were long but I was astounded by the amount of artwork jam packed in the buildings and under ground. (35,000 pieces + 1 McDonalds). I wonder if the fry smell gets into the paintings.
I think out of every place I have ever been in the world- Paris hands down has the best paintings. There is an even an art supply store where you can buy art supplies that sold supplies to Picasso and Rodin.. crazy huh?
Here is one of my favs- by Claude Monet called Lunch on the Grass. The one thing about Paris is that you see people lounging in the parks and the bridges with their delicious gourmet picnics with wine or champagne. So divine!
What where you doing this time last year? Ever been to Paris? If you haven't you would love... magic around every corner.

Lovely pics. I also dream about travelling to Paris. Its quite short time from here to Paris by plane.
I, too, often think of the benefits of teleportation...... ! I'd go everywhere!
As soon as they make a teleportation device, I'll be first in line! These photos are lovely though, I hope someday I'll be able to visit Paris...
I wish teleportation was a viable option. Christian heard a news report that they were able to teleport a piece of paper with a word on it a fraction of a distance. Who knows if that's true or not.
I've never been to Paris. I've been all over Europe but never there. No sure why.
For real- it is 2011! There is absolutely no reason why we should not have teleporters already. :)
I loooooove Paris... I would zap myself there in a heartbeat. The last time I went I got all the touristy things out of the way, so the next time I go I'm just going to sit in a cafe for eight hours a day and people watch and drink coffee and then switch to wine after lunch :)
Food in Paris is so lovely and I miss wandering about with fresh baguettes and pastries!

Lovely photos!! I WISH I could travel to Paris. I'm learning French right now, through an online program, and it's difficult. This time last year I was dreading the return to school for my last year....but I'M DONE WITH COLLEGE FOREVER NOW :D
Great photos!!!
I haven't been to Paris, but I really want to. :) My hope is that we can include it on our "hopeful" trip in the spring.
i've never been to paris, but have always wanted to. i've dreamt of days spent in coffee shops, strolling around town, and just enjoying the scenery. maybe one day!
I told my Mister that the only way we were going to get married was if he took me to Paris for our honeymoon. I hope he is saving for it now!!! I want to go to the Louvre so bad. I love Art History- probably some of my favorite classes in school. That's for the photos and something to look forward to. :)
Oh I'm in total love with Paris! :) Always have, always will be!
Aww beautiful photos! I cant wait to visit Paris someday ahhhh dreaming!!
I adore Paris. I will be there in November and I can't wait! This time last year I was doing the same thing...working...but there are lots of exciting things coming up in the next few months so I can't complain!
Rome is my favorite- Paris I can take it or leave it. I've been there four time. The people are so nice in Italy.
It really is a magical place! I loved my time in Paris but would love to go back now - it's been 10 years!
Thanks for checking out Peony! You my friend are the first person that I'm not related to or have known my whole life to show homage on Peony (I'm new to this and desperate for traffic - patience isn't my strong suit)
Your images are all very visually interesting. As a fellow pacific northwesterner I LOVE your Portland paintings on your art website!
Feel free to follow Peony ;)
When they do invent tele-porters let me know!:) I have only been to paris once, but it is one of my favorite travel memories! I can't wait to go back someday with my husband. Your photos are so lovely:)
I am extremely lucky to have been to Paris twice! The Musee D'Orsay is my favorite.
Last year I was enjoying being a newlywed and getting ready for my honeymoon. :)
I have never been but I have always dreamed of going. It looks like such a dreamy place!
After watching Midnight in Paris I kept dreaming of treating myself to a little trip there this summer. Hopefully soon. Thanks for sharing your photos!

p.s teleportation is so a need-right-now thing!
Wait -- is there really a giant heart over the Eiffel Tower? Wow.
paris is on our list...it is why i am trying (off and on..right now, not so much) to learn french. i know they speak english there, but i don't want to be the ugly american! :)
i remember in grade school we had a program where the librarian would bring in 4 big posters of famous art, and we got to choose one to hang in our class room for a week. that was one of my favs! brings back memories!
this time last year i was doing exactly what i'm doing now...how sad is that!? (i'm actually quite happy :) !)
I love Paris..l was there last year too. Miss the placexx
What lovely memories ... a trip to Paris is at the top of my bucket list ... if for the art alone!

Paris is one of my favorite places on Earth. I've been there twice and can't wait for my next trip. I too want to know where the transporters are. I think we were promised that they would be here by now.
