Life in an Instant!

I really want some type of new instant camera for my upcoming bday and I am trying to figure out which one I want... it seems like there are so many choices. I love the idea of having a camera that you have a real life photo instantly! I have a couple oldie Polaroid cameras but they don't make the film anymore and I could splurge and get film with the impossible project... then I have to wait in the mail for the film. I know I am such a big baby :) !

I really want an instant camera that I can just go and drive and get the film and have it be for a good price. Is that so much to ask? So I need your help in picking the perfect instant camera. I have it down to 4... unless you think I should go with one I don't have on my list.

Fujifilm Instax 210 - LCD control panel displaying focal distance and film count. Programmed electronic shutter, 1/64-1/200 sec. Automatic flash for low-light shooting. Two-range selectable shooting options: 0.9-3m and 3m-Infinity.

Polaroid 300 in Red-. Takes business card size photos.auto flash.electronic shutter 1/60 second. manual exposure compensation.

Fujifilm Instax MINI 7s White Instant Film Camera. Fujinon Lens - f=60mm. Electronic Shutter 1/60 sec. Auto Flash in low light, auto adjust. Manual exposure compensation. Image Size: 2.13" x 3.4".

Fujifilm instax mini 50S Instant Film Camera Piano Black. Instax Mini Brand new series!! Credit Card Size Photo. Operate with Fujifilm [instax mini] film only. Intelligent Flash for Brighter Backgrounds. 2-shutter for Easy Landscape or Portrait Photos Shooting mode. Automatic Built-in Flash

What do you think? It's so hard to choose!

I'd probably pick the Polaroid 300 but only because it's so cute, lol. I wouldn't even look at the features. Is that bad?

I have the instax mini 7s, and I love it, the price of the film is the downfall though. I bought mine on ebay and it was 40 bucks and included a pack of film. The price is what made my final decision! I think the 210 is pretty heavy and sizable too. So it just depends on if you want to be able to carry it with you or not and if you want smaller photos or larger ones like the 210 takes. I like the small ones because they are cute haha.

I have the Instax Mini and I agree that the price of the film stinks. I rarely use it because of that :( I love the pictures it takes though so I'll use it for special occasions, not for everyday use.

My friend has the first one and she says it's really good!! :) But I think the white one is the cutest haha! :)

I love my Instax. That's what I got this year for my anniversary present and I was SO excited. I like the size and shape of the photos. The camera is bulky, but not heavy. (That's the only downside, besides the film costs.)

I love my Fuji 7s - it's treated me well for years now. The film is pricey in store (it's $30 for 2 packs of 10 at U.O. but half the price if you order from ebay or amazon which is what I always do). I would like to have the updated version though - the camera itself does really good at taking people shots but not good at landscapes. I have learned that the hard way! Maybe you've got some advice for me though, haha. Good luck with the decision!

I saw some really cool cameras at a vintage shop a few weeks ago- I've always wanted a Polaroid camera with an unlimited supply of film.

I don't know anything about instant cameras but I so want one! I love your four choices! (I know...I'm no help at all!...)

I have the 7s Mini and a 200 Wide, which is similar to the first one. The 200 is HUGE, but it creates the best photos. I like the 7s for its size. The other two I haven't used, but I know they're costly. You can use Fuji Film in all of them. The film is cheap on Amazon. It's about $15-$20 for a two pack.

Judging on size...which isn't supposed to matter anyway ;) I'd go with the white fujifilm. It seems most old school poloriodish?

thanks for stopping by my blog. i vote for the red polaroid. it's just so cute.

i tend to go for something made by samsung, they're always top notch and never failed me.
otherwise, no real helpful opinion on the above, sorry.

love that first photo. nice find.

I hear the Instax is really cool. I looked into one for a possible wedding guest book, but with 150 guests the film would have been expensive.

i've heard marvelous things about that first instax, but i can't speak from experience (ahem, husband. hint: birthday present idea). can't wait to see what you choose!

so wonderful to catch up around here and see all the magic you've been up to.

xo!

I don't know anything about any of them, but I love the idea. I adored my Poloroid camera when I was a kid. It is nice that they are making them more compact (and adorable) these days.

I've also wanted an instant camera for a while, and I've eyed the instax 210 only because of the size of the photos it prints. I've heard it doesnt do indoor shots as well as outdoor though.

I think I'm going to be asking for the instax mini for christmas. :)

I have the mini in brown...love it, but the price of film is terrible. Get it on Amazon for waaaay cheaper!

The polaroid looks so cute!

i think the fuji's are better than similar polaroid versions ... check the features. fuji film is cheaper than polaroid and is supposed to be the exact same thing. figure about $1 or less a photo.

i love my fujifilm instax mini 25, but if i were buying one now i would get the new black 50s in a heart beat. it's more ninja ;)!

Gosh that's a hard one... But I really love the idea of business card size photos from the Polaroid 300 and I love the red :)

I'm getting a camera for my b'day (next month) too! My first DSLR, a Canon 550D... it's currently under the bed waiting for me... I just can't wait to get my little hands on it :)

I really want an instant film camera too! I haven't really looked into them though. I'd love to see which one you end up getting. :)

I have the Instax 7s as well and I love it. As someone else recommended - I get the film off ebay for cheap (er). Is is just me, or is the Polaroid camera the same body as the 7s? I wonder how much of a difference there is between the two.

no it's not! go for the last one! ;)

i got a fuji instax 200 and i love it..its a bit on the large side if you want to have it in your bag but i love the wide photos format..
i guess if you want to carry it around ,you should get a smaller one..
get your films online, its much much cheaper..

I had no idea that they still made instant cameras. I miss the days when the big chunky, clunky polaroid was the best thing ever! But those new ones look pretty schnazzy!

Oh man I have no idea! All I know is that I'd also love an instant camera :) love retro photos! Also: I love your blog!! <3

i really need a new one too... these are all so nice!

The last one in piano black. The fuji film and the polaroid are the same camera just different names on them. The 210 is fun but kind of cumbersome and the last one I think is better with daylight pictures than the other two. If you do get the instax you can use the polaroid film in it and buy it at Target for way less than you would get it at UO.

karen marie said...

Oh my gosh! I have never seen the 50s before! When did that come out?! Oh, my heart strings have officially been tugged. Thanks so much for the heads up!

Jess said...

Oh man, this is too technical for me. I choose the red one because it looks the coolest. Hope that helps? :p

I would love to have an instant/Polaroid camera!! I have no clue on what one is good but I CANT wait to see what you end up getting!!

Aesthetically speaking I really like the white one :)

Breeanna @ a brilliant melody said...

Hmm. don't know much about any of these, but the red one looks awesome!

I've never had an instant camera, Sounds like something fun to have!

Maukku said...

Thanks for introducing me to all of these new polaroid like cameras! I think the red one looks cute and the technical stuff also seems pretty manageable. though it takes quite small photos...but it's so adorable! what are the prices?

I have the Polaroid 300 and it's fussy. It costs roughly $1 per photo and the picture is always offset from what you see in the viewfinder so you never really know what you're going to get (not in a fun way... in a bad way.) The film has gotten jammed and I've lost some photos. I'd stay away from that one.

Danielle said...

I've heard the first one is really good so I'd go with that one!

I have the instax and I love it. The film is pricey, but that's just part of it. I love the big bulky size of it, although it would be nice to have a mini one too. I'm sure you'll love whichever one you decide on!

I just ordered the instax 7s, and am now happily awaiting its arrival. I am very excited, I hope it works well. The reason I chose this model is because there are many lenses and accessories to buy for it. I eventually want to buy the fisheye lens. What is more perfect than an instant fisheye photo?
