Ohh Moon doggie! I love watching those old movies from the late 50's-60's and it's always fun when they are redo the films in color because the color is so vivid but still with a kick. One of my all time favorite is the Gidget series- the styling is classic late 50's and they talk with that same sort of jive. The first Gidget is a coming of age movie for a young girl who falls head over heals with a surfer named Moondoggie.
Can you imagine living in that time :)?
There were a series of movies and tv series but my favorite was the first movie with Sandra Dee.
So dreamy! Oldie but goodie movies always a great source of inspiration.
Wanna go to the beach?

These are so adorable :)
love this post. To visit that time period for a week, or a day even would be ammmazzzziiinnnggg. Bill and Ted didn't know how lucky they were
It would've been amazing to live during that time. The hairstyles, clothing, and cars were all so pretty! I'm sure if we could, though, we'd think it was just "normal." Ha!
I totally wish I could live during the 50s and 60s. I think it would be fabulous!
LOVE these pictures. Such a beautiful moment in time.
Yes, I can imagine living during that time. It seems like everything was so much more simple. But really, who knows. Either way, those pictures are amazing!
I love the Gidget movies. LOVE THEM. I remember being quite young and watching TCM and AMC with my Grandmother and we watched all the Gidget films. ::sigh::
These are so cute pictures :D
If I could wear only clothes from that time I absolutely would! Everything was gorgeous back then:)
she is very adorable. love it!

She's so friggin cute!
I love classic movies and my favourite with Sandra Dee is A Summer Place...BTW, her smile in the fourth pic reminds me of Carey Mulligan...

Fun! Such wonderful images!!!
Love it! I always thought I was born in the wrong time period ( should of been born in the 40s or 50s) but oh well thank god for classic movies! :)
*gasp* I loooooove Gidget! She was my hero in 6th grade when I was super awkward. She's just so cute and spunky (plus, those swim suits are just to die for!)
i love love love the gidget movies!!!
that second picture, of the beach, is so fantastic... oh, to be gidget. :)
I imagine that time being really happy. My parents were born in the sixties. :)
aw gidget! i used to watch these movies all the time growing up and i loved them. i haven't seen them though in years! definitely time to rewatch. and that's one of the things i love most about living in LA - the style of the 50's and old hollywood is still very much alive all over town. sometimes it's so easy to feel like i'm really in a gidget movie, especially down at venice and santa monica beach {if you ignore all the rap music that is}. :) this is such a fun post!
I love all of these pictures!

I love this movie, too! I even named my muppet whatnot Moondoggie! Although I do appreciate modern technology and that civil rights is more advanced than it was in the 60's, I always kind of felt I was born in the wrong era. I definitely prefer the aesthetics of that time period.
Gidget is one of my favorites. When I first saw the movie when I was younger I wanted to be her.
i love these pictures!!
