Find me in November!

Gosh! I can't believe we are already at the end of October and almost in November.  I have been working really hard in my art studio and trying to find a groove with my art and being a new mommy... which is tough but extremely and completely rewarding.  Rewarding because I realized that I can be an artist and a mom.  Before I had a baby I thought- How hard could having a baby be? They just eat, sleep, pee, and poo. right? Well having a baby is a million times more than that- you want to nurture, love, laugh, cuddle, and do a million and one things with them while they are awake and then putting a baby to sleep is the hardest.  You have to teach a baby to sleep- which it gets a little bit easier every day but I love sleep and you would think babies would love sleep too but they have to learn to love it.
I have my paintings in two big group shows this month and the curators will be putting up the art work online.   The curators are a pretty amazing Portland duo who throw some of the largest art shows in Portland- and they seem to only be growing in size from year to year.  I put a few of my subway paintings in the shows.  :)

Erika, you beat me to it! I was just getting ready to leave you a comment here saying that I am looking forward to meeting you at the blogger holiday meet-up! See you soon!

ps. You'll have to fill me in on Portland Open Studios. My sister, Barb, has a book coming out with Chronicle in May (on furniture stuff) and she does Open Studios, but in Greenville, SC-- I would LOVE to attend one here in Portland. . .hoping they do one each month and that I didn't miss my only chance this year :)

I love the first painting so much Erika, you did an amazing job with both of these. I understand what you mean about babies too, you have to nurture them as well as do all the normal things, you're making a great mummy Erika.
