DIY:Happy Thanksgiving Garland

This weekend we spent a lot of time indoors watching old movies and munching on popcorn.  I have been hooked on watching old Audrey Hepburn movies and thinking about how everything was so dreamy back then and the styling was so classic old Hollywood glam. The pugs especially love movie time because they sandwich themselves between Tim and I and become a cozy little pug sandwich.  They also are excellent carpet cleaners too when any popcorn falls on the rug, they immediately jump down and inhale it.  After they gobble up the popcorn they run their snouts on the rug for a good 5 minutes to make sure they get every itty bitty last crumb. I'm not sure if Tim likes the old movies but I sure do.

I made this really easy Happy Thanksgiving Garland.  All I did was print out Happy Thanksgiving from my computer and cut out the lettering and then glued them on glitter paper. I hole punched each side of the word and strung it up with bakers twine. Super easy and instant thanks giving cheer.  Yes I said the word cheer- Christmas is starting to sink in.  I hung up the garland on my map because it was originally over the fire place but a little toddler would take her stool and stand on it and yank it down.  She is very proud to be able to reach things. :)

Did you have a nice weekend?

I like your holiday garland, and you're right, it does add instant cheer. I pulled my holiday wreath out yesterday...it's all here so fast!

oh it's super cute! love the glitter paper.

i am hoping marla will soon start "vacuuming" for me. i have a friend who just had a baby last spring and she is considering getting a dog for just this reason. of course she wants one for other reasons too, but that reason in particular is making her think about doing is sooner rather than later ;)

It's a great garland! I need one for Thanksgiving. We're hosting this year.
I really need a dog or two because we have a bit of a problem with food on the floor.
And popcorn is my favorite.
One of my blogging friends calls me Audrey because she thinks I have grace or something! I always tell her that if she knew me in real life, she'd stop calling me Audrey!

We watched the Audrey Hepburn movie "How to Steal a Million" a few days ago--I'm a fellow fan of her movies. And popcorn. :)

This is lovely! The glitter is perfect :) What a cozy picture you painted, I love pugs, my grandma had one growing up and now my uncle has one. Super sweet little things, aren't they? Toddlers are sure funny with wanting to "help" once they can move that stool around, right?

Thank you for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. I love old films and Audrey Hepburn is one of my favourites. I know all about doggy hoovers, my Archie is one too, he doesn't miss a crumb.

Love the garland, and you make it look so simple and effortless! Haha, something tells me I'd be a mess of glue and glitter and frustration ;) I did have a great weekend, very low key! Just what I needed xo
