Art Love: Robert Roth

Wow! I know this paintings are surprisingly simple but the rich use of color and restraint of depth is pretty stunning. These paintings make me want to just run away and go on vacation and then sit on a beach with a large fruffy cocktail with an umbrella.  Care to join?  Robert Roth is a Ohio based painter that has a lot of fancy credentials and his work is in the private collections of AMEX, The New Yorker, and Columbia University.

These are gorgeous! I love paintings that blur the line between representational landscapes and abstracts. :)

The colors in these paintings strike me deeply. It's amazing how colors can alter our mood, isn't it? One of them looks angry, the other, happy, and the other, cheerful. Such a talent.

are the golds on the bottom the reflection of the sun? I'd like to hug the artist for painting lovely things!

Love. Love. My husband is not a fan of "modern" art (he would much rather have a technical and realistic painting) and of course this mean my heart breaks a little inside each time I see a really great modern art piece.

Really, really evocative. Great find!

It feels grounding, like it could center you, or something. Simplicity is beautiful, after all!

These are STUNNING! I just love them. His color choice reminds me of Rothko, but they're so much more watery, less controlled, and I really, really like that.

Wow. Beautiful I'm not familiar with his work so thanks for sharing. I like seeing what inspires people.

Wow, these are simply gorgeous and remind me very much of Turner with slightly less detail to them.

The use of colour is just wonderful!
