Jackpot!

8X10 Oil on Wood Panel
Happy Friday! This is my first painting of the new year and it feels good to finally finish it.  October- December, I am usually so busy with painting from the holidays that I usually take a little bit of studio break after to let the creative energy flow. This record shop has been in Portland for a long time and some of the best neon lights.  It was pretty fun to paint but the posters and records on the walls and windows were a total challenge.

This weekend is going to be a semi boring one- Tim and I both working on our work but I made him promise me that we would do some sort of family activity that involves hot chocolate and donuts.  It seems like once the holidays wear off- all I want to is be in my studio and make stuff.

What are you up to this weekend?

Beautiful painting! I love the details. Did you draw it in person or use photo studies?

Very pretty! I started my weekend off with hot chocolate. Seemed like the perfect way to end a cold day and spend some quiet time with my husband!

What a cool painting!

We're going to have a brief break from icky weather on Sunday. I'm so thrilled. I think we'll run around and do all the shopping I haven't gotten to do Sunday.

Happy hot chocolate and donuts. Sounds scrumptious.

Umm..I love this! The neon lights especially. You even got the whole feel of the place right and I've never even seen it. Seriously. Nailed it! Love love. I will also be painting and looking forward to a target outing. :)
