25 Week Bump-Date

I'm 25 weeks pregnant this week, and I feel like I have made it to some sort of milestone because I am over the sickness (fingers crossed).  I also feel like I'm getting around to doing all of my projects. I'm so excited, that some how my motivation has returned. The need to clean is pretty strong but I have to really pace myself especially chasing around my little monster all day, who likes to be involved in all of my projects. I'm not sure how other mom's do it, balancing real home projects while juggling a toddler because it is tough. I can do things while she is sleeping but her nap time is still my nap time or getting something done time.  I hope she never quits napping because I'm not sure how I would get anything done at all during the day.

The 2nd trimester has been a little bit different than the first and now all this baby wants is chocolate and lemonade. In the chocolate category, I will take pretty much any form of chocolate but preferably Oreos.  Oreos are so my kryptonite this pregnancy and if I let myself, I can eat a whole box in a few days. Now I can't help in-visioning and craving frozen Oreos dipped with ice cream.  I've also never been a huge fan of lemons and can't get enough of that either. Its amazing how your taste buds change while pregnant and then go back to regular buds once baby comes.  Now I all I need for pure happiness is a lemonade and big fresh pack of Oreos for pregnancy bliss.

The baby has started kicking a lot and I can now sit back and see my shirt move, as he does his ninja moves. During Nora's pregnancy, I was extremely uncreative and I hated and dreaded going into my studio.  But for some reason this pregnancy, in typical Erika fashion, I can't keep up with my ideas and my little idea notebooks are just filling up with all of my thoughts and plans. I know it's not a bad thing but it's hard to do it all and I love making my ideas come alive.

speaking as a mother and grandmother, who always has _had_ to have a daily nap!!!!

_insist_ from the very beginning, that your children do not give up naps!! or when they out-grow naps... insist on a quiet hour...

children _do_ what is routine, and what is insisted on, by parents.

when older, they can have special coloring books or etc., by their beds. and play with them, _in_ their beds. paper dolls.. drawing paper... whatever, as long is it does not make any noise.

set a timer perhaps, for an hour. you sleep/rest on your bed... they know they do not, not, not disturb this hour.

it can be done. i did it with 3 children... and with a grand, while doing nana-day-care for her. :-))))

all it takes, is consistency.

gentle hugs,
tessa~

oh that magical 20+ weeks, it really is amazing how much better you feel all of a sudden. you look amazing! i am glad that you are still feeling creative time around. keep filling up your idea book so that if and when (likely when) your mind goes kaputz with baby and toddler you can reference it for some studio time. xo

You look wonderful! I'm just a week behind you at 24 weeks. I am the exact same way with Oreos, but I also want the crunch and saltiness of chips a lot lately too. Have you tried the Berry flavored Oreos, they are amazing?

Congratulations on the baby! Do you know if it's a boy or a girl? :)

So I've been known to eat an entire box of double stuf Oreos in a week, and I'm not pregnant. What is my excuse?? You are glowing, mama! xo

I was all about the strawberry lemonade.. and I was always pissed at the restaurants who stopped serving it because it was the dead of winter when I wanted it.
I would take he naps right now and worry about the getting things done for some other time.. because when the baby comes napping will become a distant dream.. currently no matter how hard I try my 7 month old will not nap at the same time as my toddler.. he usually waits to fall asleep a mere few minutes before my toddler wakes up.

Ah, your little girl is so cute, as is that bump! I have to tell you, I've struggled so much over the last few years wondering how other moms "do it". And now I'm finally accepting that... they DON'T. Trust me! There's so much freedom realizing that we're all in the same boat here and you only see as much of my life (or any other mom's...) as I allow you to see and likewise me of yours. Give yourself grace! And love this time.
