2015 Goals

Hello 2015! One of my favorite things at the start of a new year is having some fresh goals and ideas to work towards.  Since I just had a baby at the end of 2014, I have in a whole new chapter of life to look forward to.  It's sort of awesome and terrifying, all at the same time.  I still can't believe, I am a mommy to two whole kiddos and it makes me want to achieve my goals even more.  If I write them down, they are bound to happen... right?

1.  Make art everyday in 2015.  I talked more about it here, but I am pretty excited about this goal. It is extremely challenging to just carve out a little time for myself, but what I miss the most is making art. If I tackle this goal, even if I draw a stick man in my sketchbook, it will make me so incredibly proud of myself.

2.  Take my kiddos for an artist date.  When Nora was a baby, I took her a few times to the Portland Art Museum.  It's really important to me that my kids get exposed to lots of different types of cultural experiences at a young age.  I didn't go to my first art museum until my early 20s and it changed my whole outlook on how important it is for people to have and look at art.

3.  Ugh. lose the baby weight. I start back up with my mommy work out group this week. I am looking forward to seeing all my friends, but why can't I be one of those people who enjoys working out?

4.  Take more photos and learn how to use my camera better. In the last few years, I have learned by leaps and bounds how to use my camera, and have grown to really love my camera.  I know it's a blanket goal but at the end of each year, I always feel like I could have used my camera more.

5.  Keep a calendar.  I try really hard every few years to buy a calendar and go on about how I am going to use it.  I really mean it this time.  I can do it! I know I can! I actually want to try and do it a little bit different.  I want to not just keep track of my future dates but write down the progression of some of my projects.  I would love to be able to look back the end of 2015 and see what I was working on at the beginning.

Do you have any goals for 2015?

I love your goals! Specific and manageable! I have nothing. Seriously, I haven't even begun to think about what I want the new year to bring and I'm (mostly) okay with that! I'll work on it this week, promise! (oh, and the calendar idea might be on my list too!)

These all sound like great goals and i just love how you want to share your love of art with your children - it's so great that they will have exposure to it from such a young age. And congratulations on your second little one! i hope that along with all the adventures that children bring, you will adapt smothly into the role as "mother of two". happy 2015!

Happy new year! I'm sure you'll be very busy with two little kids, but I hope you'll make that artsy me-time work too. I bet it'll do all three of you lots of good:)
Anyway, good luck with all your goals! I know some are harder than others, but I know you can do it!

As for me, I hope to really get back into blogging. I've had some rough patches this past year because I couldn't do it energy-wise, but I'm fully motivated to plan ahead again and dive into the blogosphere. I also want to focus on making music this year, which is a little scary, but also fun!

Oh do I have PLANS for 2015... some of them are stretch and some of them are easily accomplished, with some focus. Can't wait for this year to unfold
