Making Art Everyday in 2015 // Days 29-35

Happy Weekend Friends! I do love a polka dot and have been thinking a lot about patterns and more abstract brush strokes.  I love the idea of starting to add different patterns and making it "believable."

Making Art Everyday in 2015 // Days 22-28

I have been so far behind in posting here and I could list about a million and one reasons, but I miss posting on a regular basis.  For the next couple of days, I am going to be posting the last few weeks of my Making Art Everyday in 2015 challenge.  It has been quite a journey so far and I feel like I have learned so much.

Some days it's hard to even get 15 minutes to open my sketch book or have Baby Everett sitting in my lap while I figure out what I am making.  Other days, when the clouds part and both kiddos are napping at the same time (ok bragging), and I can get undisturbed 2 hours of quiet time during the day. But the consistency of the challenge is what I have loved the most.

They always get a case of the giggles, when they are side by side.
My little family minus my husband. I don't think I could ask for anything more.

Portland gray.
Signs of spring, in february. Nora always so curious. She is constantly asking, "Momma what's that noise."

Making Art Everyday 2015 /// 15-21

I have to say this has been one of the most rewarding projects, that I have ever done.  I think it's because I am making something every single day. It is pretty challenging to make art that I am proud of and finding the time between two kiddos. I have been particularly inspired lately because I am actually getting sleep at night. Baby Everett is sleeping through the night! I don't want to jinx anything, but it's amazing how much better my brain works when I am at least getting 7 hours of sleep (in a row). Ok, I'm bragging now.

Do It Yourself: Whale You Be My Valentine?

Since Valentine's Day is right around the corner (literally).  I thought it would be really fun to make Valentine cards with Nora and I wanted to make something easy.  So these cards took literally about 5 minutes to make and Nora was very excited her cards were in the shape of a whale.
Card Stock
Marker or Sharpie

Draw one in the shape of a whale.  It doesn't have to be perfect, they are cards from a toddler.  Cut it out and use that as your guide to make the rest of your whales. Nora has started to work on her tracing, so it's a perfectly toddler activity too.  Cut out your whales and write, "Whale you be my Valentine?" Yep, that's it.  Crafting Success.

Making Art Everyday in 2015 /// Days 8-14

This is probably one of the hardest projects I have ever done (even before kids), but I somehow feel like it's one of the most rewarding. I am making art every single day and I am making whatever I want. I'm not exactly sure how I am going to fit in doing some other projects that are starting to trickle in but I guess I'll have to figure it out. To read more about the project click here.
