I'm participating the upcoming group art show Paradise Postcard Show. It's a postcard show and it's an open call which means anyone can participate. I truly love shows like this because there is such a wide array of art and usually a lot of it.  There is always a special energy about a group show with all of the people huddled in  looking at the art. The theme is What is your Paradise? My paradise with having 2 kiddos and 2 noisy pugs is a quiet minute with a crunchy piece of toast covered in delicious jam. Sounds like paradise to me. There is still time if you want to send in a little art to participate, the deadline to participate is November 9th and more details here. Details About the Show: Dates: November 18th- December 20th. Location: Ugly Art Room, 460 Madison Ave, Corvallis, OR  The art (the best part) is part of my making art everyday project and this is day 297.. To read more about this awesome project click  here...

We bought a house! I have been extremely quiet on the non art front because we have been in the whole process of buying and selling a home.  We have lived in our previous town home for over 9 years. Let me tell you the whole process, has been extremely stressful. It's exciting but it's tough knowing and making these huge decisions are going to really impact my whole little family. We ended up previously buying a town house because we both worked long hours and before kiddos we loved to travel a lot. We thought that by just getting a town house it would be a great step into home ownership. We didn't have to do any work to the home and it was just the right size for just the two of us. 2 kiddos, 2 big fat pugs, both of us working from home and we both wanted something different. Tim and I were ready for our lives to change. Which means we were finally ready to start the whole process of buying and selling a home. We have been saving our pennies for a long time and wante...
Portrait Practice. I caught my neighbor today walking to get her paper and her hair was sticking straight up. hehe! I always think it's fun to do an unexpected portrait and I always love a portrait that has a bit of a surprise! I also love to incorporate lots of portrait practice to this yearly art project because I want the practice. I need the practice. I have been contemplating dedicating a whole 30 days to portraits but maybe not this year. I really do want to take some time to focus on learning portraits. oil on paper The art (the best part) is part of my making art everyday project and this is day 295. . A holiday show that I participate in every year is the Big 500! yay! It is pretty much one of my all time favorite shows because it was one of my very first art shows many years ago. It has grown from 30 artists to now over 500. Every artist gets a limited number of panels and they are all the same size and they are all the same price. It's a great show that has so many different kinds of artists and artists in different stages of their careers. All of the art is hung gallery style and mixed up with no names and titles. It  is the only art show that at opening night of show, people wait in line and you have to plan on going early. When the doors open for the show, there are collectors that run in and literally rip art off the walls. It's pretty much a zoo! And you see people carrying stacks of panels to buy. The energy is pretty incredible. It's a cash and carry show and you can pay for the work and take it home, that night. Over the next few weeks, I'll be showin...
Today is a new day with a fresh start. My Instagram account is still deleted by Instagram. It makes me so incredibly sad that I have had my account for a couple of years and everything is just gone. I have the pictures on back up and I will miss the people who I have connected with. Yes some I will reconnect with but others, the internet is such a big place. Or people I have connected with in real life and we connect on Instagram. It's just makes me sad, that at a snap of a finger a community and friends are gone. Poof! I'm going to wait a few days and see if Instagram will respond to my help request, before starting over. I feel like I have started over so many times in my life.  I should be used to it by now, but this one is the hardest. I am just at the tail end of a year long art project. An art project that has taken me on this incredibly journey of learning so much about making art and myself.  I have made so many new friends and learned so much. I am going to keep ...
I have had the worst day possible. It's one of those days that keeps getting worse and hopefully you hope it's the last.  I found out today that Instagram deleted my account. Great! One of the best things about Instagram is making so many new friends and finding a whole artist community. I filed something with the Instagram help desk and let's see where that goes. Second my phone isn't working and I couldn't get an appointment with the Apple store until tomorrow. It won't even boot up. So, that means no photos. Even more good news. We have been embarking on redoing our kitchen and the stone place is so backed up that it took 3 weeks to get an appointment for counter tops.  So that means no sink for 3 weeks and with 2 small children. :( Days like today make me laugh because in the internet. People always blog about the sunny side and things never going on wrong. My blog is truly my happy place. It has my art, my inspiration, and my favorite life moments. ...
