Adam's Peanut Butter Cookie Recipe + Mommy Playdate

I am officially warning you! If you make this recipe, your kiddos, wives and/or husband will fight you for these cookies. I set these cookies out to cool and Everett was trying to crawl over the table to get to them. He pushed with all his toddler might, climbed the chair and spread himself across the table. Messes were made. Hearts were broken. You have been warned!

One of my favorite things to do with my kiddos is to bake. Everett and Nora both drag their chairs up to the counter and watch the mixer. They love measuring and of course dumping out the ingredients.

Since my kiddos are one and three, we go to a lot of play dates. (at least one to two times per week). We belong to a mommy group that gets together fairly regularly for play dates and the kiddos play while the moms chat.

For a typical playdate, we bring something to share because every kid wants what the other kid is eating and of course you have to think of something to share with the moms. Nothing beats a good kid snack, especially in the form of a cookie.

We bought a batch of these and usually we wait until closer to the end of play time to do the snack, but the kiddos had to have them first.  They were that good.

Ingredients
1/2 cup soften butter
1 cup peanut butter (stirred)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp of vanilla
1/2 tsp of salt
1/2 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tsp of baking powder
1 and 1/4 cup flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Combine butter, peanut butter, and sugars with your mixer, until they are nice and creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Then, slowly incorporate the rest of the ingredients. Line your cookie sheet and make little balls. Take your fork and give them a good smash. They are ready for the oven. 8 minutes baking time. I have gas oven and gets very hot but if you have an electric, give it another minute or two.

Let cookies cool and devour!

Oh, and of course I save myself cookies for my studio. duh.

Adam's Natural Peanut Butter and 100 Days.

I am partnering with Adam's Natural Peanut Butter to celebrate their 100 years in the Pacific Northwest. I am a proud Oregon girl and I am born and raised here. Adams was born in the Pacific Northwest 100 years ago and to commiserate the 100 years, we are teaming up with a series of adventures inspired by the Pacific Northwest.

I have to say I have a soft spot for awesome products that come from my neck of the woods.  Since I am busy with art and mommy duty, peanut butter is a definite food staple in our house. Nora and Everett will devour practically anything with peanut butter. Everett is the picky eater out of the two but he sees that peanut butter jar and he starts doing those gimme hands.

My personal favorite is the Creamy Organic. I still remember when I was a kid and I would hide under my mothers kitchen table and eat peanut butter right out of the jar.  I might not be under the kitchen table anymore but I still love eating peanut butter right out of the jar.

Turning 100 is a big deal and so over the next 100 days, you will be seeing my creative adaptations of Adam's dedication to the Pacific Northwest. It's a great way to celebrate and I am excited to be apart of it.

Day 175 // Making Art Everyday in 2016

There was this guy who was carrying around an old SX-70 Land Camera in San Francisco's Moma the other day. He had several different types of cameras around his neck and he was taking photos of all the different paintings.
