I have been so behind sharing my life beyond just art, which is important. I truly find inspiration in my every day moments and adventures. I am out of practice from using my big camera and because I've been looking through the photos, it's almost as if I am slowing down time. I love sharing my life on my blog and social media, but sometimes I feel like it's over so quickly once it's shared. The whole point of me even starting this blog was to share my journey with art, creativity and my favorite moments of my life.

We went to Hawaii this past winter and it came when Portland was covered in a blanket of snow and ice. We stayed up in Up Country on Maui, and it was the perfect quiet relaxing vacation that we wanted. This winter in Portland was a cold and brutal one, accumulating the most snow that Portland has seen in a long time and Maui was the perfect escape.

We went to the baby beach nearly every day and the baby beach is a beach protected by a reef, so it's perfect for little babes to go swimming. All the kids wanted to do was float in the water and dig in the sand. Since we were staying in up country, it was very close to the road to Hana and we took the drive and visited quite a few waterfalls. It was pretty rainy during the trip, and several water falls were closed, but we were still able to enjoy the lush rain forests and hidden beaches.

Towards the end of the trip we took the kids to the aquarium. The best part about the aquarium is that it's on the smaller side but very interactive. They had a whole section that the kids could put their hands in the water and touch a few sea creatures like star fish and different shells. The aquarium has huge glass tanks and the kids pressed their faces and peered inside almost as if they wanted to go in for a swim.

Now thinking back, I can still taste the fresh mango fruit smoothies, and the warm croissant from the bakery down the street from our AirBNB. Everett was always the first one up in the morning and cuddling in our bed before the sun came up. Nora already in her swim suit waiting to head to the beach. I can't wait to go back.
