This came to my mind ...that's a great painting. This came to my mind the very moment I saw it: when I worked in milan there was an old homeless man on the corner of my offce, everyday. He played the violin and asked for money. He played like a pro, a lot of people stopped just to listen to him. One day he did't show up and everyone was concerned. After a week at his place there was a woman: she was the Violinist's wife asking for help. So we discovered he was from yugoslavia, used to play in a sarajevo orchestra and escaped to Italy when the war began and his house and theatre was destroyed. He died the week before and his wife wanted to bury him in sarajevo next to their children...ever since this happened I always ask homeless people if they need something. It does make you ver...Erika, what a great painting. It does make you very sad doesn't it? But, how wonderful that he was shaven, and clean, and organised. <br /><br />I truly hope he somehow gets his life together and finds a place he can permanently call his own 'home' (if that's what he wants.... some people like the carefree life of no entanglements or many possessions). <br /><br />I can't imagine how hard life must be for these people, and how they're probably made to feel by the bulk of society. <br /><br />It reminds me how very lucky I am to have my own small, modest home.
