Beep Beep- next stop Las Vegas

The hubs surprised me and is whisking me away for a weekend getaway to Las Vegas! We have only been to Vegas for work related activities and now we have the chance to go and see all the things we have always wanted to see and do.  My hubs accepted a new job and has a few days off in between- so why not go?.  I know it's pretty hot there right now- so hopefully I won't melt.  I have already starting mapping out actives for the long weekend and printing out coupons!
1. Ride the Roller coaster ride at New York New York.  I am deathly afraid of heights but on my bucket list is to riding the roller coaster at New York, New York Hotel.  It loops up around and the hotel and it even goes upside down- I just hope I keep my eyes open for most of the ride.  :)  I know they have one of those sling shot rides at the top another hotel in Vegas but you won't even catch me stepping foot on that one.  a girl has to have limits right?
2.  Take the zipline in old Las Vegas.  They put a zipline through old Las Vegas- that is supposed to be pretty amazing at night time and it goes right through the old strip. I have never been ziplining but have always wanted to try it.  I really want to take a video when I go on the zipline, and hopefully there will be no me screaming in the back ground. lol
3.  I want to go to a Cirque Du Soleil show. Have you ever been? I heard they are amazing. I think I have been to Vegas maybe 15 times and have never seen a show. Well this is the trip! We are going to see a show and I am so excited for it.  I think we are going to see O- at Bellagio- and I can't wait to be transported to another planet for the show.
4.  We are going to be attempting the sammich.  What is the sammich? the sammich is where you slip a $20 bill to the hotel when you check in and they get you an amazing upgrade on the room. The hubs is being doing a ton of research on how to do the correct form of sammich and he thinks we have about an 80% chance of getting it- I will let you know how it works out. :)
5.  Visit the art museum at the Bellagio.- they have Monet paintings there- enough said right? It's one of the best curated little museums I have ever seen.  Just thinking about it- makes me have a big smile on my face. Oh I am so excited! I can't wait!
6.  The most important- frosty drinks by the pool. no vacation is complete with out it?

Am I missing anything? What do you like to do when you go to Vegas? For my international bloggy friends- what do you like to do when you go to the casino?

OH MY GOSH! That is so cool! See Cirque Du Soleil! If I had a million dollars, I would seriously see Cirque Du Soleil every single tour. I would be a Cirque groupie. It is unbelievable and wondrous. WONDROUS!

How fun!

I have a friend that lives there so I go quite often but forget the fun things we do.

O is amazing, but I almost enjoyed LOVE more. :/

At the Coke store you can try flavors from all different parts of the world, that was kind of fun.

We're not big partiers so we just like to walk around the casinos, gamble a little, people watch and hang out.

They do have an automatic gun range (The Gun Store, I believe) not too far off the strip. My Boston boyfriend enjoyed it but I'm not sure if someone from Oregon would be impressed, LOL.

Can't wait to see pics!

Wow! Color me jealous! Don't worry...not like evil jealous...excited for you jealous!
What a sweet hubby you've got there. My man surprised me by getting me an ICEE from the gas station!
Every single "to do" you've got listed sounds like so much fun. Even the roller coaster and I am scared to high heavens of them! I can't wait to hear about your mini voyage! Have fun with Monet :)

New York New York roller coaster is awesome! You're missing visiting the MGM lions, M&M factory, and any buffet there. I love, love, love the vegas. I even loved it before I was 21. I am very jealous you're going for the weekend!

HAVE SO MUCH FUN!

Vegas is so much fun... make sure you budget though, I always spend more money than I intend to. These days I go with just cash and leave the cards at home so I'm forced to spend within my limits. Good luck on the sammich, as well!

That sounds like so much fun, especially the zipline! Have lots of fun!

I loooove going to Vegas! I saw my first Cirque show this year (Ka) and it was amazing! I can't even describe how beautiful and exciting it was!

Frosty drinks by the pool are, of course, as must!

I'm not a huge gambler, but I recently discovered Pai Gow. You can sit down and play for hours on just $60! At the end of the weekend, my husband was down $200 and I was basically even...when you consider all the free drinks, you could even say that I won! Plus, I met some really fun people at the tables. :)

Though I've been to the US quite a number of trips, during which we often drove from LA to Tucson and back again, I have never ever visited Las Vegas. Hope to do so one day though!

I have been to Cirque Du Soleil though once and it was magnificent:)

Have fun!!!

Oh man! This makes me wish I could have a Vegas redo. My only trip was a girls trip that went completely bad. Unfortuantely it involved places like - eating dinner at Hooters - not exactly what I wanted from a Vegas trip.

So jealous! My last trip to Vegas was a girl's trip that was a near-disaster.

All those things sound so fun! Enjoy the break and sun : )

oh those things sound like so much fun! i've only been once to visit a friend and we actually only spent one night on the strip. he took me wandering around just so i could see the sights, and i always wondered what else one could do there other than gambling and drinking. sounds like you have a full trip lined up of fun though. i would give anything to lounge by a pool right now - it's so hot!

have a blast and good luck with your sammiching.

All of this sounds totally awesome, especially the art museum, which I didn't even know existed. I've only been to Vegas once, and I don't think it counts. I was with my grandpa, driving out to Lake Powell from LA to camp with my cousins. My grandpa and I stopped in Vegas for lunch. We ate at some divey diner, and I was about 16.
Have fun!!

I've never been to a casino, but I remember on an episode of Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Will claims that walking backwards into a casino brings good luck- maybe you can give that a try and see if it works?

Have fun!!!

Also, please take a video of zip lining, that would be so sweet. and have a great time!

i am soooo behind in my blog reading, but had a minute today and saw your vegas title...
my two trips to vegas were the same time of year (november-thanksgiving) but with completely different 'feel'. the first trip was magical: got married, won some money, didn't do much else. the second trip mad me feel dirty: stayed at the flamingo, saw the topless jubilee show, and it was about 30 degrees so i had to wear my one sweater every day! but still a blast!!
have fun, and good luck with the sammich...never heard of that! :)

What a wonderful husband you have!! A surprise trip to Vegas sounds lovely right about now :)

1. You are so brave if you ride that coaster...I wouldn't even dare put it on my bucket list!

2. Ziplining is soo much fun - I would have done that one if I had known about it last summer!

3. You must see 'O'!!! It's by far Cirque du Soleil's best show. I also enjoyed their Beatle's 'Love' tribute show but if you only have time to see one, it must be 'O'!!

P.S. I learned how to play craps when I was in Vegas last and it was the funnest time! You get the best crowds and the most excitement at those tables so I highly recommend finding a friendly dealer and having them show you the ropes :)

I love your list! I saw Ka and Love. Ka is def my favorite but I've heard great things about O as well. I've never heard of the sammich but girl, I want to try that next time! Thanks for the tip :)

Ohhhh ... how exciting!! I bet you have an amazing time ... all the lights and the excitement! :)

It's going to sound crazy, but one of the best things about our casino is the incredibly cold air-conditioning ... just great on a hot day! ;)

have an awesome trip! i'd love to check out vegas, i've never been.

I am so jealous of you right now! I really wanted to go to Vegas this summer, but never made it. We went for part of our honeymoon in 2009 and we saw a Cirque Du Soleil show and played some slot machines. Some casinos give you free drinks while you are gambling! (Caesars is one).

Hope you have a fabulous time, can't wait to hear about it!

AHH are you kidding me?! i missed a zip line in vegas?! dang it! maybe it wasn't there when i was there 4 years ago? that might make it ok haha

i would go back just for that!
