Art Love: Leah Giberson

This beautiful artwork is by Boston's Leah Giberson. Her paintings immediately make me think of summer, sunshine, and road trips- which since being stuck inside all weekend due to the snow storm.. sunshine is just what I need. or what sounds even better is a summer road trip in one of those adorable trailers. Leah's art process is that she starts out with a photographic print on panel and then paints over it- its almost like photography meets collage meets painting.

That is hilarious. And if you are gonna trek through that...you need to be rewarded! What better way than pizza and beer!

Oh my goodness these trailers! Such beautiful work -- and a very cool painting technique! May have to try that myself...it seems like it would work well for portraits. Thanks for sharing!

she's one of my favorites too. i totally agree there is just this vibrance of summer to her work. and it always makes me imagine that there is a coming of age story going on in her painting somewhere.
