Practice makes perfect! Anytime I hear this phrase I think about my mother making me practice the piano as a kid and she would set a little timer to make sure I got my full hour of practicing time in. Little did she know I would sneak into the kitchen were the timer was and I would take off about 30 minutes. :) I 'm reading Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell and in order to become an expert in a field you need roughly 10,000 hours of practice which equates to bout 10 years. I think I played the piano about 7-8 years and I was never very good at it, because I never really wanted to be and I never put in the time to practice. Painting and drawing on the other hand, I was all about. My mother would give me money for an after school snack and I would just use the money to buy art supplies.
