We are all a little spread out among a few different states and thanksgiving is one of the few times of year that we all manage to be all under the same roof. Even though it tends to be a bit of zoo because there are so many of us and pets included! I love having my family all around me. One of our biggest traditions is that all the ladies huddle in the kitchen working on their specific dishes and I since I am the youngest I am typically the official taste tester which I have to say is the best job ever. My other big job for thanksgiving is being in charge with setting the table and getting all the forks and knives in a perfect arrangement and I always seem to second guess which side the fork goes on. Since I am in charge of the table-scaping I always make a big effort in coming up with something new at the table each year to mix it up......
We are in middle of wedding season and Do you know what I love most about weddings? I love the getting dressed up and my most favorite the cake. I think one of the hardest things about weddings is figuring out a gift. I always look at the gift registry and think should I give them the fancy vase or maybe the napkin holders. Target now has a wedding registry that has so many great gifts that go beyond the traditional gift giving. It sounds silly but I could actually give them a fun gift that they could actually use. Sounds crazy doesn't it? Target asked me to interpret there wedding theme "Be Yourself, Together"with two unique gifts that represent the two love birds that are getting married. A his and hers gift that they would both enjoy. I have been eyeing this dress for quite some time and finally just gave in and said I needed to have it. and what I love most is that it was comfortable! I just got these shoes and they called the Edie shoe which reminds me of Gray Gardens. I've seen the play, movie and the documentary (a teeny bit obsessed) Gray Gardens is about a mother and daughter who live in this grand house and eventually it turned into a hoarder house filled with cats. Little Edie is the daughter who performed off Broadway when her mom passed away but was forever glamourous and extremely dramatic. Now I want to watch the movie all over again.
