Stay Tuned.

This week is a special occasion- I am going to try and go a week with out television.  I am not sure if I can do it but I think it will be well worth it. I always say that I am a child of television.  When I was a kid my mother would plunk me in front of the television for morning cartoons and then we would rent movies and I was around the television pretty much all the time.  I know that I watch a lot of television and justify it to myself that it keeps me plugged in, and I do love it, but I do need a break.
I will miss you Judge Judy, Real Housewives, STYCD, and all of the glorious reality television I love to watch. I am feeling  brave at the moment and hopefully I won't crack this week.  Have you thought about giving up TV?

I'm always rooting to get rid our cable because I never, ever watch it. Sometimes I get hooked on a netflix series, but other than that I'm not a real regular show-watcher. When I was in high school I read a statistic somewhere that the avg american watches four hours of TV a day. I was totally shocked and couldn't figure out how that was possible... my mom was pretty strict, haha. anyway, best of luck with your challenge to yourself!!

Good luck! I don't think I watch a great deal of television...maybe 5 hours a week. Is that a lot or a little. I can't tell if that's good or bad.

You can do it! I hardly watch tv at all. Partly because I'm too busy and partly because I lost interest in tv/music/movies after the 90s.

good luck! I don't even have cable or anything, so needless to say I don't watch TV much at all! I think you'll find that you'll like it - it frees up your time for such better things! And the silence is nice, I've discovered...

Stay strong, girl! I am totally into TV this week but only because my hubs is gone and it keeps me from feeling so lonely!

You can do it! I've been watching less tv since most tv shows have completed its seasons, otherwise, giving tv up would be a huge challenge. Giving up computer/internet for a week is something I'd like to try- that would be difficult.

Oh wow, how brave you are! I also think I'm a tad addicted to TV but I loooove my shows - especially Real Housewives and SYTYCD!! But I have to admit I'm happy when the seasons wind down and I get some breathing room on my DVR for a few weeks :)

I once lived without television because my mom, sister and I stayed in an RV for two months while we were looking for a house. I thought it would be impossible to go on without TV but after the first few days, we didn't miss it at all!

I try to cut back on recording new shows but they all look so tantalizing.

I can't wait to hear how you do...you are so brave and inspiring :) And perhaps I will do the same shortly! As long as I can clear my DVR off beforehand, lol :)
