I am borrowing my hubs brother's Fujifilm Instax 200 Camera and I have to say I am totally addicted to using it. I couldn't help snapping pictures here and there and it seemed like everywhere. I felt like I was taking pictures that almost transported me back in time. I have been using a digital camera for so long and I forget what it was like using actual film. I can't just delete a photo and retake it - using a film camera there is no delete button!
I was even a little nervous taking the first photo :). Made me think of my very first camera- it was one of those hot pink long skinny cameras and I remember I was so embarrassed because it wasn't a square. I used to take it to the playground and run around and take pictures with it. When I could I would to sneak using my sister's Polaroid camera. What's funny is that I still have my sister's old polaroid camera- or maybe I should say it's my polaroid camera :) Do you remember your first camera?

How fun! I know, when I use my instax mini I always take so much more time to take a photo because if it's awful then there's no going back! It's not the cheapest film in the world! I'm glad you had such a fun time with the camera this weekend :)
I still remember my first camera and it is still with me. :)
Photo that you took is nice :D
I want an Instax! It sounds silly, but it's a little unnerving to use a camera with film. Each snaphot is a gamble for an amateur like myself. Sometimes, the photos look great, sometimes not so much. I still want one anyway. I love the quality of the pictures.
That looks like great fun! Yes, I´ve almost forgot what using film was like... However I DO remember the disappointement when I had taken about 25 pics of something important and they came back too dark/blurry or just totally wrong..! :-D
I love the instax too:)..i found one from a garage sale a few months ago and i love it..
my first camera was a really cheap point and shoot one that i covered with stickers hahah
but about 6 years ago i bought an old canon film camera (ae1) and i fell in love with photography again..so i guess this was my real first camera..
Enjoy using the instax and show us the photos:D
x
Looks like so much!! xx
I remember when my mom allowed me to use her camera on a school trip to the aquarium. You had to screw on a new flash every time you needed it.
I got my first camera at the age of 18, it was a very VERY low pixel red rectangle thing.
A Polaroid camera with my first, I loved him very much.
Glad you enjoyed using it! They're so fun!

My first camera was a pink 110 also! That's so ironic. I've never met any one else who remembers having a pink one. I still have mine! They stopped making color film for it but still produce black and white. I haven't shot a roll in a few years with it but think it would be a fun thing to do before they stop making it.
My first camera was also one of those non-square long ones. It was so awkward to hold and then it was hard to find the 110 film for it! haha I was so relieved when I got a "normal" square camera.
Oh yes. Seven dollars at Dollar General. I think I was six and very proud of my purchase.
i would love a polaroid. bit expensive, the film, but just love the whole essence of them.
can't remember my first camera, i think it was a toy one. my girl already loves pointin' and shootin' like her mama.
i think my first camera was a vivitar... hah. i loved it.
& your instax is great :D
well, keem them pics comming! :)
awesome! i had one of those long, skinny cameras too! mine was black and i thought i was sooooo cool carrying it around. of course, it took awful photos.... but whatever! :)
That is so cool!! I don't have the Instax camera, but I love the photos it takes. I have a Diana and it is really fun going back to "real film" cameras now and then. It is always so surprising and fun to look through the developed film! I look forward to seeing more of your cool photos!
hai there how are you doing? :)
My first camera was also one of those long ones. I think mine was lime green. After that I had a 35 mm that weighed no more than the film itself. That badboy stuck around for a while producing tons of blurry pictures of school crushes and up close shots of freckled faced friends.
Digital cameras have defiantly spoiled us. I would be nervous taking pictures with film again, fearing I'd waste it.
Peony
I love the permanence of a film camera. I took black and white photography classes in school and was always amazed that only a handful of the shots on my contact sheet were really worth developing. Keeps you thinking more and less trigger happy.
That's so nice of him to let you use his camera! I love the photo you shared! I don't have an instax, but definitely want to save up to get one!
I was just thinking the other day that there are kids out there who never held a non digital camera in their hands. :S
Awesome! I had a Polaroid camera during the teenage years. I love film cameras but developing the film is becoming a lost art :(
I bought a vintage camera this weekend and I cannot wait to see if it works!!!! Great pics! Also, what nail polish are you wearing????? I love it!
I recently found my first camera (in my mom's garage sale pile!), a Canon Snappy from around 1996. I popped in a roll of film and, low and behold, it still works! I've loved using it this summer...everyone gets a kick out of it, plus the colors of the photos are so vibrant and the texture so organic. I can't wait to get my next roll developed. :)
Lovely!
Yeah I do, my first one and only one for quite some time, was a basic compact analogue 35mm. I bought it when I was in the US with my dad. I remember you could buy these seperate fun colored click-on plastic things for the front, but I never got those.
Thinking about this makes me want to look for it again and see if I still love it<3
I have so many cameras to try out at the moment(a new fish eye and I'm getting a pentax in the mail this week!), but I guess I can add it to the list;)
I love film! There's something so authentic about those pictures. Unfortunately they are kind of a pain in the butt to develop (at least to me). But I love instant cameras. So so cute! I wish I could borrow yours!
I actually don't even remember my first camera...maybe it was one of those Kodak disposable cameras? I'm not sure...haha
I love the Instax wide! I have one too and it's the best thing ever!
Thanks for visiting my blog and the nice words- they mean a lot.
Love your blog!

The instax takes awesome pics, can't wait to see what it can do in your hands.
oh my gosh, i had totally forgotten about those long skinny cameras... i definitely had that in like, neon teal :)
I asked for my first camera my fifth birthday. However, I think after our vacation to England/Scotland I believe I wore it out when I was 8.
Cooool. I want one now :).
I want one! I really believe you can't mess up a polaroid photo - every shot has a bit of beauty in it :-)
Yes! I had a camera that had a flash bulb on the top - and you had to replace it a lot. I took it on field trips. I loved that thing.
Haha, yes! It was a Kodak Disc that someone had left at a playground, I fell in love with taking pictures after finding that treasure.
Hey !
That camera looks so huge !
I want a instax, it takes lovely pictures and I'm really into that retro vintage-y stuff :)
Like the picture you took
Xoxo
i love, love, love my instax. that reminds me that i need to get more film this week. :)
I do remember my first camera. I was pretty young. Wasn't nearly as nice as these digital cameras today, but I loved it.
Nothing beats an instant picture, there is just something awesome about it!
Oh man. I have been wanting either a Polaroid or an Instax for forever! My first camera was a little 32 mil. It was Teal. I used to click pictures with great rapidity.
Amazing. The blog world definitely makes me want an Instax!
How excellent... that looks like so much fun!!! I would love to get my hands on one! I think my first camera was a disposable film one we got on holiday when I was really little and we could take photos of what ever we wanted... for some reason I took a lot of snaps of feet??? Too funny! :)
Ooh, that camera looks so fun!
I still have my first cameras- both my little plasticy kodak instamatic and my chunky 1970s SLR. I want to get some film for them sometime and see what happens ♥
My first camera was the same kind you had—long and skinny! Only mine was just plain black. I would have gone nuts over a hot pink one :)
the photo is great as are instant cameras and that one is the size of your head. it's so big! i don't remember my first camera, but it was probably a kodak.
oops, i forgot to say that instant cameras cause us to be more disciplined with photo taking and if that carries over to digital it's a very good thing.
yes, I remember my first camera, it was my parents actually, but I used it more often :)
loving the instant pictures, so bad that the film is so overly expensive nowadays :) enjoying to shoot with my grandfathers camera though, analog is the best :)
have a lovely day! and I really enjoy to see your paintings, such a nice work!!
I have a few Polaroids. I love them. I got them several years ago before the film was discontinued. I finally went out and bought an Instax Mini, but I just don't like it as much. I kind of wonder if there is something wrong with mine because even if I change the settings the pictures come out all blown out. Boo. I dream of unlimited Polaroid film.
