Making Art Challenge

We are now in March. yay! and I am seeing signs of spring popping up. I can't believe February is over and I am all finished up with my Instagram challenge. My challenge for February was to make art every day and post it on Instagram. Sounds simply right, but it was tough!  With this challenge I wanted to be more brave in showing peaks into my sketchbook and my unfinished art projects. I did it and I made some really awesome art that I am proud of.  The only draw back about doing an Instagram art challenge is that I missed showing my artwork here and talking about it in my tiny corner of the universe.  I also reaffirmed how much I still love to make art and that I need it my life. I also missed doing art that takes more time and creating more in-depth work- so I am going to be sharing more stage by stage work and more paintings.

Currently I am doing a 30 day of lists challenge on Instagram. It is a list a day prompt for promoting more art journaling whichI need more in my life. The best part of the challenge is getting more wear and tear in my sketchbook and that it helps me create more ideas and create more artistic flow.

Have you ever experienced flow? It is when you work and everything comes out how you want it- its like all the stars align. This print is now available in my etsy shop. Happy Weekend.

love this print erika! also, just wanted to let you know that i featured your 'old blue' painting on my blog today...it is so lovely :) the name is also quite nostalgic for me because my grandfather who passed away this past november used to have an antique truck named 'old blue' that is now in a museum :) he loved that truck like crazy.

When you hit a stride and everything comes out on paper exactly like you imagined it in your head...that is the best kind of feeling. I know that feeling well, but I would love it if it came around more often! xo

Yay! I love March. It's already light out there and the vibe is totally diffferent. Now is perhaps the time to regret all my dates with Ben & Jerry.....You are so talented and I love your art work. Nothing is like a good proper flow where you stuck your whole being in and reappear hours later not knowing where the time went...X

I'm always seeking flow. I love the idea of a daily creative journal to stay inspired and build momentum. Creative Living is my mantra for 2014.

In my world, I try to write at least one page a day for this very reason.
