Making Art Everyday in 2015 // Day 68

More portrait practice. I'm in this journey to get better at my craft and sometimes I wonder if I am growing. I was cleaning out my studio and came across an old painting from 5 years ago. I remembered how much time and love, I put into it. Now since I have two kids, I feel like I am in such a hurry to make art. I'm slowly realizing that art isn't bound by time but by the amount of that special "magic" put into it.

 Are you making anything today?

I sat down to just sketch in my sketchpad today. Nothing wonderful came of it, but it was relaxing. I hate that I don't do what I love often enough because I can't set aside "enough time" to do it. You are right, art is not something that is defined by the time you put into it.

wonderful painting

Me...done much of nothing today, but write, and get a strained muscle in my neck trying out a new chair. I leaned over too far instead of lifting the paper up.

I love this piece! I have yet to paint a realistic face but this gives me inspiration. It’s quite wonderful!
