Blue or Yellow

I am covered in paint! Since I promised the hubs that I would take a couple days off from oil painting- and do some re-painting of our little home. I started painting the walls in our living room and then realized that I should repaint the ceiling. I have paint all over my shirt.. shorts.. hair.. feet.. finger nails. .. everywhere! One of my little pug monsters got covered in paint.
Not sure how he did it, but I turned and looked at him and his snout was covered in white paint. So he got a bubble bath- so I could make sure I got all the paint out of his wrinkles. :)  He is such a little princess. I got a few paint samples because I really want to do a fun accent wall- but I can't decide on the color.
What do you think? Should I go with toothpaste, light blue, or mustard yellow?  :)  I threw my coffee in there because it's pumpkin spice latte season.. YUM!

Well, I'm partial to the blue, but the yellow is nice too! The blue is subtle yet fun...I vote blue but I think either way it'll be fabulous!

I like the yellow!

I'm always partial to blue but I know that you could make the mustard color work. It would look amazing with grays and the right purple. I think either way you have a winner!
Pumpkin spice season?? I was unaware! Yay!

I kinda like the yellow to be honest...and your poor pug! When my mom was painting her chicken coop, one of my furbabies ended up with a streak of neon green on it's belly, haha.

well, three rooms in my house are variations of the blue color, but I also love mustardy yellow....hmmm, although Fall makes me crave that mustard color! I guess I am no help at all!

BLUE!! Aubrey and I had a yellow room once and it was a nightmare! I knew better because of some color theory research but I painted it yellow anyway. We blame that yellow room for most of our worst arguments!!

In fact, he walked in while I was reading your post and said "Tell her blue. We learned the hard way."

Oh and if you haven't read about color theory - it is a very interesting read about how certain colors make you feel and react.

I have a sample square of that very same sort of yellow stuck up on my wall in the living room over the couch.... I've been contemplating it for around 3 months now and wondering whether to take the plunge! The blue is gorgeous too. I also considered doing the wall in the yellow but in big horizontal stripes! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'm painting this week, too! Today I'll be putting the oil coat on all our doors and trim upstairs. (Not super excited about it, but I will be thrilled when it's done!)

I really like that yellow color, but if the room is smallish, that you're painting, it might end up being a little dark. I hope you show photos when it's done! :)

Oooh, such a hard decision! I love both of those colors (and have similar colors in my apartment!) I'd go with yellow...it's such a happy color!

I love that kind of blue toothpaste coloured paint although the mustard is great as well. They both contrast each other exceptionally as well so it's a tough choice.

Absolutely yellow! It's my favorite colour and I love it!

i've read that blue is more likely to inspire creativity and we just painted our yellow kitchen blue, although i haven't been inspired to cook more, yet.

Yellow is supposed to cause anxiety, while blue is a soothing color, and represents communication... I like both colors though.

As you can tell from my blog (and pretty much everything I own, if you could see it) I have to go with blue. Love that shade you picked too!

I just painted my living room a shade of blue and I want to eat it up. I love yellow too - but that is a little bold for me. I vote blue!! Reminds me of a Tiffany box..and that's never a bad thing.

I love the blue, but I love the yellow too. I think the mustard would look great. What are the other colors in your house... I feel like the mustard is a warmer hue & the aqua is cooler. It might be the fall weather coming but I am voting mustard, you will be able to combine lots of other colors with it for accents in the room.

I love the yellow! My favorite part about painting my house was when my dog would get spots in her fur. So funny.

I love blue and mustard together :) I have 2 turquoise & 1 pale bloom room so I guess I'm pretty partial to blue hues!

Blue! But the mustard also looks nice...maybe you can do both?

oh man, i'm a huge lover of blues, but for an accent wall, it seems like a mustard one might be more fun. it really just depends on what you're going to put in that room {furniture, decorations, textiles, etc.}.

My vote is light blue - one of my favorite colors!! But I think you could incorporate all those colors as accents into different rooms :)

I can't wait to see the end result! Hopefully the pugs stay cleaner next time :)

light blue light blue light blue! And man, painting walls...you definitely get paint all over you. I did when I repainted my room this summer!

Anait said...

I'd have to say mustard yellow....but only because I'm in a fall sort of mood and that yellow seems so warm and inviting.

By the way, I love that you left the corporate world to focus on painting...I paint too, and its always nice to "meet" another person who is passionate about it!
