This painting is of Mary's Club which is a gentleman's club but it's a place that has been around Portland for a really long time- since 1954 and the sign predates because it was the previous owner's piano's bar who's name was Mary. Mary eventually agreed to sell her piano bar but they still kept the sign and kept her name. You know me, I love old stuff- and hope the sign will always stay up. I think my favorite part is the sparkling stars.
How was your weekend? Do anything fun? :)

That painting is really cool and the club sounds like it has such an interesting history. My weekend was pretty low key. Chilly weather has arrived in NYC. Happy Monday Erika!

So I wasn't the only one at a little blogger meet-up this weekend! Sure, mine was just me & another friend and there weren't goodie bags, but she DID bring me British chocolate, so that counts :) Beautiful painting and I love the story behind it! xo

Love that they kept the sign! Awesome painting, really love the composition. I did a historic home tour on Sunday in a nearby town that was super fun, I love seeing (and smelling) old homes. :) Thanks for your sweet comment!
